National Church Residences and Elford donate to Berwick Civic Association to celebrate groundbreaking for Brookwood Point

Celebration of the groundbreaking for Brookwood Point, a new $33 million senior community in Columbus, Ohio, was recognized with more than the ceremonial shoveling of earth. Additionally, a $6,000 donation was presented to the Berwick Civic Association. The gift from National Church Residences and general contractor Elford will provide support to the teachers and students of Berwick Elementary and for a local health event, as well as a matching food drive to fill the pantries that feed the hungry in the Berwick neighborhood, which will be home to Brookwood Point at 2687 East Livingston Avenue. The donation check was presented on March 22, 2022, at the development site.

LeadingAge Ohio Member National Church Residences’ newest property for middle- and moderate-income seniors will feature 103 independent living apartments with a mix of spacious one- and two-bedroom floor plans for seniors age 55 and older.

Strong local partnerships made Brookwood Point possible, including Columbus City Council’s approval of a 15-year, 100% tax abatement, spearheaded by Councilwoman Shayla Favor, the Hospital Commission of Franklin County, who provided up to $27 million in bond financing, which was purchased by First Midwest Bank, general contractor Elford and architectural firm Berardi Partners.
